Music Review: Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (***1/2)

Another Dharma Productions and yet another Debut director Shakun Batra (the nerdy guitarist in the song 'Pappu Cant Dance Saala'). The movie stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor & promises to be a young romantic comedy.
Music Director: Amit Trivedi (Dev D, Aamir, No One Killed Jessica, 'Ik Taara' from Wake up Sid)
Lyricist: Amitabh Bhattacharya (Dev D, Anjaana Anjaani, Desi Boyz)

Honestly I am a huge fan of Amit Trivedi and the sound of his music....he to me is the most hatke music director in the indian film industry at this moment.... right from his song 'Mehfuz' from Aamir to 'Emotional Attyachar' from Dev D or 'Sham' from Aisha he has given some extremely original music.

The album has 7 songs in total ( including 2 remixed tracks)

The title track 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is a decent catchy number.....with time it might grow into a hit but it does not posses a long shelf life.
Similarly Gubbare is a good song but does not posses a long shelf. Although it has some interesting lyrics and is sung extremely well by Nikhil D'Souza, Amitabh Bhattacharya & Shilpa Rao.

Aunty Ji is a very different number.....you might or might not like it.....personally I found it to be a good foot tapping number ( weird mix of country, rock 'n' roll and goan music :| ).....two things stand out the most....one the singer Ash King ('I love You' from Bodyguard) odd but a good choice... and two... the 'worth listening to' lyrics...

The last two songs Aahatein and Kar Chalna Shuru tu are both good compositions....while Aahatein (sung by Kaarthik and Shilpa Rao) has a very calming down and nostalgic feel to it.....Kar Chalna Shuru Tu very well sung by Vishal Shekhar, has a very light and feel good sound to it....

My Picks ....all of them :) ....especially 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', 'Aunty Ji' and 'Aahatein'.....all the songs are nice to listen to .....give it a shot....u might just like some .....(***1/2)
