Music Review: Agneepath (*1/2)

Ok first things first...this is the first time I am doing something like this and am quite a novice at writing reviews...my idea of a review is to give a quick insight about what to expect from a certain creation (in this case a movie or its album)....personally I'm not a big fan of reading long reviews about something...I feel like a review should be concise and easy to comprehend....hope this works....Please give me your feedback and let me know if there is something missing :)

So here it goes...well Agneepath as we all know is a remake of the smash hit 'Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty & Madhavi' starrer 'Agneepath'.... it has been produced under the Dharma productions banner (Karan Johar) and is being directed by Karan Malhotra (debutant).....
Well because its a Karan Johar Production one expects some good songs (well at least ones that the masses would appreciate).

Music Director: Ajay-Atul (Singham)
Lyricist: Amitabh Bhattacharya (Dev D, Anjaana Anjaani, Delhi Belly)

Personally the only song I liked in the album was O Saiyyan....it is a well composed, written and sung (Roop Kumar Rathod) song.... reminds me of maula mere (from the film Anwar sung by Roop Kumar Rathod) although its not half as good.....

Chikni Chameli is the one song from the album that's going to become a craze but honestly I am sick of such songs because as usual the industry has to repeat the same formula again and again until it fades away (in this case the formula of Item Numbers)

The album has 5 songs out of which my only pick is O Saiyyan (For all those who like slow old songs). Although I know for a fact that Chikni Chameli has already become a hit. :| . Gun Gun Guna is strictly OK!

Overall the album fails to excite.*1/2
